Nook Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-09

Nook is an app for calming in-the-moment anxiety through short, body-felt actions (breathing, grounding, sound, slow mini-exercises). This page explains, in plain language, what data the app collects, what it does not, where the data lives, and what rights you have.

This is general information, not legal advice.

In short

Who is responsible for your data (the controller)

The owner of the Nook app is responsible for the processing described here. Contact: support.nook.app@gmail.com.

What Nook does NOT collect

We do not track you across other apps or websites. In Apple's technical privacy manifest for Nook, tracking is disabled and there are no tracking domains.

What is stored only on your device

The following stays on your device and is never sent to us:

Nook has no backend and no cloud account. The app works offline.

Pseudonymous usage analytics (Amplitude)

To understand which features actually help, Nook may send pseudonymous usage analytics through the Amplitude service. Nook uses a random app-install identifier for aggregate usage analysis and does not use it to identify you. Journal contents and free-text notes do not enter analytics.

Analytics is on by default, but you can turn it off at any time in the Me tab (Я) → Analytics (Аналітика). If no analytics key is configured in a given build, analytics does not run at all (zero network requests).

Legal basis (for users in the EU/EEA): legitimate interest (improving the app), balanced by data minimisation and the ability to opt out. We grant you the full rights described below regardless of classification.

Crash and error reports (Sentry)

To maintain reliability, Nook may send technical crash and error reports through the Sentry service. Journal contents and free-text notes do not enter crash reporting.

If no key (DSN) is configured in a build, crash reports are not sent at all. Sending crash reports is a separate mechanism from analytics; the Analytics (Аналітика) toggle governs product analytics specifically.

Subscriptions and payment (Apple / StoreKit)

Nook Premium is an auto-renewable subscription through Apple's App Store.

Where data lives and for how long

Third parties (data processors)

Nook does not sell data. Technical data is processed only by these providers, acting as our processors:

ProviderPurposeData
AmplitudePseudonymous usage analyticsPseudonymous usage data; stored in the US
SentryTechnical crash and error reportsTechnical crash context
Apple (App Store / StoreKit)Subscription and payment handlingManaged by Apple per Apple's Privacy Policy

Your rights

For users in the EU/EEA (GDPR): you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with the data-protection supervisory authority in your country. Because the app does not store identifying data about you on our servers, the fastest way to exercise access and erasure is the in-app actions (Analytics (Аналітика), Erase all data (Стерти всі дані)). For any rights request, contact support.nook.app@gmail.com.

Children

Nook is not intended for children and does not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with any data, contact us and we will help.

This is a wellness app, not a medical device

Nook helps you calm down in the moment, but it is not a medical app, a diagnostic tool, or a treatment, and it does not replace professional advice. If you feel unsafe or need help, contact a doctor or emergency services.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The current version is always available in the app (Me tab (Я) → Privacy Policy (Політика приватності)) and at the link we provide on the App Store. The date at the top shows the last update.
